June 18 - Eyes

His brown eyes are beautiful but check out his lashes.  They are so long sometimes they get caught in his eyes.    Such a typical look from this kid too.

Yummy homemade strawberry jam!  It turned out so yummy and is a key ingredient in my strawberry cupcakes.

June 13 - Reminds You Of Childhood

I love going to the creek with the kids.  Reminds me of all the summers we spent swimming and playing with our cousins at Bidwell Park.

June 12 - Sun Flare

I know this picture is washed out and not the best example of a sunflare.  But, my boys would not cooperate and this was the only picture I even liked.  His sweet and thoughful face deserves kisses everyday.

June 11 - Silhouette

I think I need my windows washed.

June 10 - Animal

Firestrike, the chicken, who everyone is will peck them.  She's mean.  Ginger, our cat.  Everyone always says, wow your cat is fat!  We don't overfeed her, but she does have a healthy diet of mice and birds on the side.

June 9 - Fresh Fruit

Or the lack thereof.  Fresh fruit never lasts long in our house.  He would have eaten an entire cantaloupe.

Okay. So, I am suppose to have done a high angle.  Well my brain checked out.  I tried a few shots.  Nothing turned out.  I was getting frustrated.  I was out of town and apparently that means forget everything for a while.  Instead of high angle, you get high altitude.

June 5 - Breakfast Today

How ironic that today's assignment would be about what I had for breakfast.  Today was a fast day for me and so I ate nothing, but at least you get to look at my pretty plates!

Hands

Capturing the hands of my grandfather, father, and husband.  Hands that are always working hard to support their families.  I wanted to capture James at the piano representing not only his hands but the hands of his father.  His hands look just like his dad's.

Favorite Shoes

Today's category: favorite shoes.  I can't decide if I even like shoes half the time.  I love these shoes right now because they are yellow, such a happy color.  When I wear them I feel like I am not wearing any shoes at all.  I prefer barefoot most of the time but sandals are the next best thing, especially if they come with a pedicure.

30 Day Photo Fun

 During the month of June I will be trying to participate in a photo challenge from a blog I occasionally read.  If you are interested in seeing the challenge list click HERE.  You are suppose to join a flickr group and post your pictures there, but that is too public for me and since there are only a handful of people who will see it on this page, I am posting them here.  Day One (June 1st) was self portrait. Yuck!  I don't enjoy taking pictures of myself.  I would rather someone else do it so they can tell what to do to get a great picture.  So, I decided to focus on something that I like about myself - my eyes.  They are blue, but can be gray sometimes or even green looking.  But I like them and I finally got one kid who has them too.  First photo is unedited and the second I had fun with a little.  I took these while sitting in my car during a rainstorm holding the camera in my hand.  Crazy I know.  I am really trying to get them good right from the camera so that editing is minor.  That's what the pros say to do anyway.  Then again, I'm no pro.
